English

In English literature and language classes we continue to build our repertoire of wonderful words and igniting our imaginations as we plunge into novels and articles covering all interest types. We learn to receive and digest messages which eventually bubble up into our individual and unique interpretation which we craft into meaningful and well-thought-out essays.

This cycle we are focused on creative writing and having debates. Get ready to plunge into different personas and step into fantasy worlds. Find your voice and have a say.

Sciences

Combined Science

Welcome to the exciting world of "Combined Sciences"!  In this class we will embark on a journey through three fundamental branches of science: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. New topics will be covered while building on and reinforcing key content from previous cycles.

In Biology, we will delve further into the intricacies of the human body and its systems to discover how our bodies function. We will further explore microscopy - looking at different specimens under the microscope and students will learn how to prepare their own slides. This cycle will also include guest experts to speak about nature, animal biology, and animal behaviour.

In Chemistry, we will investigate the science of matter and its interactions. Exploring the world of elements, compounds, and mixtures as we conduct engaging experiments and observe the chemical reactions that occur all around us. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the building blocks of the universe.

In our introduction to Physics, students will witness the laws of motion in action and understand how forces shape the world around us. We will explore the connection between science and mathematics, discovering how mathematical principles help us make sense of physical phenomena. We will study the principles of energy, gravity, magnetism, and light.

This "Combined Sciences" class is designed to nurture our students’ curiosity and critical thinking skills, as well as foster a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

Life Skill

Excited to learn about our world? Wondering what lies beyond the horizon? After witnessing the insatiable thirst for knowledge about other countries in the last cycle Geography will continue to explore both the physical world of landforms and structures, as well as the human world and its development.  After all, we can't know where we're going if we don't know where we have come from.

Arts

After working with acrylics and individual pieces of art, this cycle will be a team effort to dream up and create a mural from start to finish.  What are symbols, what do different colors represent, different animals.  What are we conveying?

Regular art classes continue with improving techniques in acrylics and in clay modeling.
