After a year of envisioning Osa Jungle Academy, it became a reality today.
The dream was to build a learning community for teens and tweens. Where learners can become themselves in an environment that nurtures their passions and opens their minds to possibilities. Inspire - Inquire - Imagine - Impact are words that weave through the ultimate mission of Osa Jungle Academy, which is to 'Enable Exceptional Education in a Changing World'.
Today we saw this vision unfold with students joining the first day of classes comprising English, Spanish and Drama. Connection time was also introduced, a regular occurrence where students have the opportunity to connect with themselves and explore more deeply learning topics, and also where they have space to connect with each other and with their environment.
There is still much to discover and create. For instance, the Llamkay Temple awaits its finishing touches while the adobe floors harden. Meanwhile, the student common room (its name still to be determined by students!) has already proved to be a big hit, with its slackline, punchbag, pull-up bar, fridge and more.
Set in 5 acres of undulating land there is plenty of space for students to explore and imagine at Osa Jungle Academy. As we celebrate this important step in the journey, we are deeply grateful for those families joining us and look forward to welcoming many more.
