Trek details

  • Students will be required to carry all their personal equipment everyday from one camp to the next.

  • Each day students will walk approximately 8k through mountain roads and rarely used jungle pathways.

  • An emergency vehicle will be traveling behind the trek at all times. It will only be used in emergencies and will remain mostly unseen to the trekkers.

  • The trek takes place within approximately 15-20 minutes drive to Ojochal or Cortes.

  • Jungle Academy will provide tents and camping structures.

  • Children will be required to use primitive, but carefully planned, toilets facilities for the duration of the trek. Yes! That means pooping in a hole!

  • Jungle Academy will provide all main meals for the trek, plus Schmores for the first night’s campfire.

  • Students will have the opportunity to play in waterfalls and cross rivers, so should have appropriate clothing.

Age Suitability

  • 9 year olds and above.

  • Younger students must be mature enough to interact within an environment of older kids.

  • Older children may be assigned roles and tasks enabling them to demonstrate leadership and progression.
